Dating back to approximately 8000 BC, the kilim stands as one of humanity's earliest forms of rug. The "Gol e MirzaAli Curtain Kilim" is an artwork made of cotton thread woven by Narzile Esmaili. She crafted this piece entirely by hand within 8 months, drawing inspiration from the Gol e MirzaAli pattern, an ancient design revered in the city of Sanandaj. The Gol e MirzaAli, also known as the Golfarang pattern, showcases an arrangement of clusters, each adorned with five to eight-petal roses spaced across the tapestry's background. The design incorporates fragmental and angular geometric motifs, woven without a predefined blueprint. Esmaili has used twelve-layer yarn and four-layer fluff, all dyed with natural, plant-based colors. The resulting kilim’s dimensions are 2.70 meters by 1.65 meters. This kilim should be kept away from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and humidity. Furthermore, acidic materials shouldn’t be used to wash this item.
