In the past, the craft of silversmithing and the creation of silver and gold jewelry were employed to adorn cloth and armor. Turkmens, in particular, utilized precious stones such as agate and turquoise, in addition to metals like gold, silver, brass, and nickel silver, to make these kinds of jewelry. Using casting and soldering techniques, Ahmad Dorodi has handcrafted the silver “Quran Cover Necklace” which is a traditional Turkmen jewelry. This rectangular necklace with a layer of gold, boasts seven agate stones. The two-layered chain is adorned with four stones, while the centerpiece showcases two stones. The crest of the necklace, modeled after the ram's horn, has a single stone. Filigree work, consisting of nine teardrop-shaped motifs made from silver, surrounds the center, forming an Eskandari design. This work should be preserved in a dry environment, away from humidity and dust.
