The art of cutting and engraving the interior of precious stones is one of the fine arts used to capture and illustrate the beauty of historical landmarks. The “Süleymaniye Mosque gemstone” is an artwork created by Ebrahim Sabetnia. Using only his hands, he carved the design on a natural quartz stone in a three-dimensional style. The quartz stone, weighing 49.5 carats, is placed on a silver stirrup approximate weighing 30 grams with a purity of 925. The design inside the stone is inspired by the Süleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul and, following the engraving process, it is enhanced with natural mixed paints to ensure better visibility. The emboss working motifs on both sides of the stirrup depict a crescent shape, derived from the symbol atop the mosque's minarets. These motifs are further embellished with four glass gems on each side. It is important to mention that the gemstone’s engraving, the craftsmanship of the stirrup, and the emboss working motifs are all the work of mr. Sabetnia. The best way to preserve this piece is to keep it in a jewelry box and protect it from temperatures above 500 degrees Celsius.
